TCMS Writing Spotlight

Mrs. Brown, TCMS teacher, spoke to Mrs. Allen's class about making good choices. In 2016, while Mrs. Brown was walking beside the edge of the road, a young woman who was driving while distracted struck Mrs. Brown with her car. Mrs. Brown had multiple injuries and ended up losing her right arm. She showed the class her prosthetic arm and how she is able to use it. She encouraged students to make good choices by realizing that the choices we make can have a life-changing impact on someone else.

Recently, TCMS FFA in conjunction with our local 4H office sponsored a fundraiser to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Homerooms competed against one another to raise funds. Ms. Dunn's class raised over $100 and was rewarded with an ice cream party.

Yesterday our TCMS Cross Country team competed on our home course in the Bulldog Invitational Cross Country Meet. We had our best meet yet! Every single runner PR'd (set a new personal record), and that is so rare. You normally don't see an entire team all PR in the same meet. This team has been working hard, and it showed yesterday. We had 5 boys finish in the top 20 out of 126 runners: Luis Valentin (5th), Palmer Davis (8th), Cole Russell (17th), Eric Aguilar (18th), and Chris Aguilar (20th). Our boys team placed 2nd overall out of 10 teams.

Yesterday we competed in the Southern Georgia Championships at Jeff Davis. We had two boys in the top 25 who medaled, Luis Valentin (6th) and Palmer Davis (17th), out of 178 runners. Boys finished 5th out of 13 teams. All boys and girls cross country athletes ran very well and we are proud of them. We have our home meet next week on Thursday, please come out and support them if you can!
