LUES FAMILY FOCUS- ESTABLISHING ROUTINES
HOMEWORK ROUTINE: Allocate a specific time for homework and studying. Create a quiet and organized workspace to minimize distractions, and consider how much time your child needs and when they work best.

Our Toombs County community tailgate will be this Friday, Aug 23 (4:30-6:30pm) in downtown Lyons. We invite you to come shop and eat local. Various teams and groups will host 'meet and greets' along with booths for you to visit. The cheerleaders will be getting our spirits high, and you can even have some time on the mat with the wrestling team. The Redcoat Drumline will back it all up and there will be face painting, cotton candy, boiled peanuts and much more! We will line the downtown streets at 6:15 PM to cheer on the TCHS Football Team as they do their "Dog Walk!” Don't miss it!

Hello LUES Family,
Congratulations to your student on completing the first iReady Diagnostic for the 2024-2025 school year! As I’ve mentioned before, the Diagnostic is an important tool we use to understand your student better and where we can offer the best support.
You can also talk to your student about the work they just completed and learn more about their progress. Here are some questions you can use to spark a discussion:
· What was it like to take the Diagnostic? What did you do during the test to make sure you did your best?
· Tell me about some of the reflections you’ve made from your data. What are you proud of? What do you need to work on?
· What goals did you set based on this Diagnostic?
· How can I help support your goals?
Thank you again for your continued partnership and support in your student’s learning.
Best,
Rhonda Stone
Principal LUES

FECHA: 19 de agosto de 2024
Hola familia LUES,
· ¿Cómo puedo ayudarte a alcanzar tus objetivos?
Gracias nuevamente por su continua colaboración y apoyo en el aprendizaje de sus estudiantes.
Mejor,
Rhonda Piedra
Director, LUES

LUES FAMILY FOCUS- ESTABLISHING ROUTINES
Morning Routine: A structured morning routine can set a positive tone for the day, and help reduce morning chaos and rush. As you create a routine, think about including getting dressed, eating breakfast (at home or school), brushing your teeth, and reviewing the day's schedule.

LUES ANTI-BULLY SHOW (9/24/24) PERMISSION SLIPS
As part of our Positive Behavior Rewards, we would like to take students on a field trip to the PAL Theatre to see the Anti-Bully Show "SUPER ME". Please return permission slips (filled out front and back) and $6 to attend the show. In order for students to qualify, they must have excellent behavior from 9/20/24-9/24/24 (4 days)- no office referrals and no classroom referrals. As always, we will accept donations for any student(s) that cannot afford to attend.

Please write your child's name on lunchboxes, jackets, backpacks, etc. We are already collecting items for the lost and found. Thanks for your support!

Help us support the Ronal McDonald House. Donations needed: Paper plates, paper bowls, plastic cups, toilet paper, combs/brushes, trash bags, paper towels, hand soap, disinfecting wipes.
A yellow box is in the foyer of LUES to drop supplies. The school that raises the most items will get a popsicle party!
