Finley Crow, a 5th grade student in Mrs. Richter’s class, built his own motorized windmill while reading the novel called The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba and Bryan Mealer. He was inspired to make it because William built a windmill from scratch to provide electricity for his home in Malawi, Africa. His efforts prove that anything is possible with effort and ingenuity.

The last Parents to Breakfast was a success! We love seeing our students and families start off the day with breakfast together.

Exceptional Children's Week is coming up April 13-April 17. We are proud to celebrate our exceptional children and their unique abilities and strengths. We are selling shirts to wear in support of showing acceptance and inclusion to our students for this special week. If you or your student are interested in buying a shirt to support our students, see the attached form. Orders are due by March 20. Thank you! #shine

Mrs. McCoy's 4th grade ELA class had some special guests this week for Read Across America Week! Thank you to Mr. Dakota McCoy, Miss Madison Bradford, and Miss Sarah Ellis Walker for coming to read to our students this week!

4th Grade students wrapped up Read Across America Week with some special guest readers from Toombs County High School!

We ended a great Dr. Seuss Week with the TCHS Student Council Members reading to our students and encouraging them to have a love for reading! Thank you, Mrs. Christian for bringing over such a great group of students!

Congratulations to our top AR point winners for our Read Across America AR contest! Our students earned a combined 937.4 AR points just this week alone!! The top student in each grade won a Chick-fil-A gift card and a book coin for our book vending machine. The top class in the school won a free ice cream.

3rd grade top teacher: Mrs. Kennedy's classes earned 92.6 point
4th grade top teacher: Mrs. Martin's classes earned 43.2 points
5th grade top teacher: Mrs. Richter's classes earned 322.6 points

The top 3rd grade student with the most points is Payton Harden with 6.5 points in Mrs. Craft's class. The top 4th grade student with the most points is Addison Davis with 11.2 points in Mrs. Martin's class. The top 5th grade student with the most points is Hank Warden with 47.1 points in Mrs. Richter's class. The class with the most points in the school is Mrs. Richter's afternoon class; they earned a total of 294.6 points! Congratulations everyone! #shine #READ #RAA
