While transporting students home from school, one of our buses was rear ended by a car. None of the students nor the driver were seriously injured. The safety of our students is our top priority, including when they are riding the bus to and from school each day. All parents were contacted by the school system and notified of the accident.

Girl Scouts - Takeover Day
What: Have STEM fun & Learn how to get involved with Girl Scouts & earn your 1st patch.

Lyons Mainstreet is preparing for another year with Tales from the Altamaha. The "Interview an Octogenarian Writing Contest" is a way to collect local stories. The winner receives $100, a t-shirt, and seats on opening night to be honored onstage. Please see images for more info.



Teen Maze Community Night is tonight @ 6PM at the Toombs County Ag Center. This is an awareness event for parents and caregivers. Come and get up-to-date info on various topics children are faced with.


The Toombs County local hog show is tonight at 6:30pm at the Toombs County Ag Center arena. Come out and support our local youth. Concessions will be available.

Mr. Noah Bullard presented a session on how to teach classical guitar at the 2024 Georgia Music Educators Conference in Athens, Georgia. His was one of 11 presentations given to music educators throughout the state of Georgia. "It was an honor to represent Toombs County at the state level".


Congratulations to Colin Milligan! He was selected to the Georgia Music Educators District One Honor Band. Over 700 students auditioned from 16 school systems. He was first chair of the tuba section for the 9/10 ensemble. They performed this weekend in Statesboro, Ga.


Toombs County High School Senior, Dominic Eason, passed the Bulldog Great, Chuck Hill (1,250 points), as the school's all time points leader. Dominic needed 9 points going into Tuesday night's game against Appling County. He achieved it with one of his many first half dunks. He will be recognized before the start of the boys' game against Tattnall County on Friday, 2-2-24. Game time is 7:30 pm at the Toombs County High School.
