LPS held a STEAM Parent Night last night and had a great time with students and their families. Here are a few pictures from last night's event.
FREE community resources and information was given to those who attended. We had a spokesperson from the GIRL SCOUTS organization, our local OHOOPEE REGIONAL LIBRARY (Tal Harris Williams), and our parent coordinator (Rhonda Benton), to share with families about activities and information that can help our students AND their families with after school, extracurricular, and home activities to help educate our community.
OHOOPEE Library had a raffle for a STEAM book bag full of books for a student to win. Aubrey Hatfield was the winner of this prize.
Toombs County Schools had a raffle for Science Kits to be given away and the winners are as follows:
Pictured L-R: Dr. Tracy Mulkey, LPS Principal, Ezekiel Martinez, Lillie Crocker, Kenneth Mosley, Kinsley Butterworth, Neimar Miranda Lopez, Amanda Hudson, LPS Instructional Coach.
Huge thanks for ALL of those who came and joined in the fun. Our next parent night will be Thursday, March 7. Mark your calendar now for another fun night with MATH. Math resources for our students will be given away at this meeting.

Due to the possibility of severe weather tomorrow (January 9, 2024), the Toombs County School System will be closed for students and staff. The local Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has advised and recommended closure as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities. The decision to close the school has been made in consideration of the forecasted weather conditions, including the potential for high winds that may compromise the safety of our school buses and pose risks to commuting students.
We understand the impact this may have on your daily routine, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these weather-related concerns.
We will continue to communicate any school updates through the following communication tools: Toombs County Schools mobile app, Social Media Outlets (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), School websites, Email, text messages and local radio stations.
