Math Class Uses Skittles Activity to Learn About Ratio and Ratio Tables
Mrs. Holland’s 6th Grade Math completed a Skittles activity in class today over Ratio and Ratio Tables. Students had to separate skittle colors and then answer ratio questions. Students also had to set up a ratio table and plot their ratios on the coordinate plane. Covered standard MCC6RP.3- 3a: use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real world mathematical problems, by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios. Make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole number measurements, finding missing values in the tables, and plot the pairs of values on the coordinate plane. Students had lots of fun and got a sweet treat when they were finished.
