FFA Officers Participate In Leadership Training
Recently the Toombs County FFA Officers participated in a chapter officer leadership training held at Walter F George Lake in Fort Gaines, GA. Chapter Officers attending were Brad Sanders, Erin Ricks, Chasity Denmark, Stormy Knight, Brittney Beckum, Karlie Wright, Riley Adams and Jackie Swaringim. The officers travelled to Fort Gaines to spend three days learning how to work as a team, how to be effective leaders and to also plan activities and events for the upcoming 20152016 school year. Advisors Mark Montfort, Joey Montford and Callen Bethea guided the officer team as they worked on the chapter budget, developed the chapter program of activities and perfected the FFA opening ceremonies. The officers also enjoyed time spent swimming, riding jetskis and meeting Ms. Bethea, who is the new agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Toombs County Middle School. "The officer training is a great way for the officers to kick off their year of service to our chapter," Toombs FFA Advisor Joey Montford said. "It's good to watch these officers grow into leaders, work as a team and build friendships that will last a lifetime. We really challenge these officers to work together and to encourage other students to get involved with our FFA chapter." FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through Agricultural Education. Georgia FFA is the 3rd largest state association with more than 37,000 student members and 290 chapters engaged in agriculturally based activities throughout the state.
